Good Morning Honey is the work of one family — Richard, Amber, Parker, and Andie Ozero — running a 4,000+ hive apiary in the wildflower fields of Parkland County, Alberta. This is how we got here.
From TV journalists to beekeepers.
In 2006, while both building careers in television news, Richard and Amber Ozero purchased a farm in Parkland County, just west of Edmonton. They dreamed of raising a family in the country, with a few animals — and perhaps a few beehives.
Curious about beekeeping, Richard invited a local commercial beekeeper to place colonies on the farm. The plan was simple: learn the craft and maybe buy a hive or two. But after spending time alongside the beekeeper, they saw something much bigger than a hobby.
In 2011, the Ozeros took a leap of faith, purchasing 920 honey bee colonies despite having no commercial beekeeping experience — a bold decision driven by a shared vision: to build a family business rooted in hard work, quality, and a connection to the land.

Today, the family cares for more than 4,000 colonies, producing 100% pure Canadian honey enjoyed by customers across Canada, the United States, and Japan. The values remain the same: family, sustainability, and exceptional honey straight from the hive.

A Farm and a Dream
Richard and Amber Ozero purchased a farm in Parkland County, just west of Edmonton. There were no beehives—just open fields, big dreams, and a desire to build a life in the country while continuing their careers in television news.

The farm quickly came to life with chickens, pigs, sheep, cattle, donkeys, and even a pair of geese. The family also grew hay and invited a local commercial beekeeper to place colonies on the property, hoping to learn more about beekeeping along the way.
Good Morning Honey Begins
When the local commercial beekeeper decided to retire, he encouraged Richard and Amber to think bigger. What began as a plan to own a few hives quickly turned into an opportunity to start a commercial beekeeping operation of their own. It was a leap of faith that would change the course of their lives. Instead of purchasing a hive or two, Richard and Amber bought 920 honey bee colonies and launched Good Morning Honey. They traded careers in broadcasting for a new life in agriculture and filled their very first jar of honey.

As the business grew, so did the need for a permanent home. After years of renting extraction space, Good Morning Honey built its own honey extraction and processing facility on the farm, allowing every jar of honey to be harvested, packed, and prepared right where it all began.
Certified Organic
Good Morning Honey became certified organic through the Fraser Valley Organic Producers Association (FVOPA). Our beekeeping practices didn't change—we had always been committed to producing honey naturally. The certification simply recognized the standards we had been following all along.

What started as a local family business began reaching customers far beyond Alberta. Today, Good Morning Honey is available at farmers' markets, grocery stores, independent retailers, through our online store, and in bulk shipments across Canada, the United States, and Japan. Seeing our honey enjoyed around the world is something we'll never take for granted.

Today, Good Morning Honey manages more than 4,000 honey bee colonies across Parkland County. While our operation has grown, our values haven't changed. Richard still spends his days working bees, Amber continues to build the brand, and every jar of honey reflects the same commitment to quality that inspired us from the very beginning. We're proud that our honey is enjoyed on breakfast tables across Canada and around the world—but at heart, we're still the same family that took a chance on a few bees and a dream.

Richard Ozero
Former TV Meteorologist. Now spends all of his time thinking about bees and occasionally motorbikes and vintage cars!
Amber Ozero
Former television photojournalist and editor. Runs the brand and most of what happens after the honey leaves the apiary. The reason the labels and social media look the way they do.

Raw, unpasteurized, unfiltered
Honey straight from the hive. Never heat-treated, never stripped of pollen, never blended with cheaper imports. What's in the jar is what was in the comb.
